Gramsci, approximately a toad. A cubist toad with Antonio Gramsci's swept-back hair, round wire spectacles and a tie. Its muted palette, lean and proportions change on each visit. Hypnotic rings ripple behind the glasses while crooked limbs and a split face float among loose orbital lines. Every visit reshapes it: the old toad is dying and the new one cannot be born, and in this interregnum a great variety of morbid symptoms appear.
